Hi there reader, my name is Anisa (pronounced: uh-nee-sah). Thank you for checking out my little corner of the internet!

I am a poet based in the east coast, USA.

A little about me, I:

• mainly write poetry and flash fiction pieces (because I have a relatively short attention span, I gravitate towards stories that can be expressed in relatively few words)

• am an empath, overthinker, daydreamer night owl

• love to listen to and read song lyrics (it helps me appreciate the layers behind the story because what are songs if not poetry set to music)

• draw inspiration from artists like:

  • Traditional poets: Rupi Kaur & Pablo Neruda

  • Singer Songwriters: Taylor Swift, Julia Michaels, Alec Benjamin, Bear, Halsey, Conan Gray, Olivia Rodrigo, & Troye Sivan

Some of my favorite things to write about include:

• inner-thinking prose ramblings (daydreaming the “what ifs?”)

• detail oriented depictions of feelings and scenes

• galaxy-related metaphors (stardust, planets, the fabric of space…)

• references to human anatomy and physiology (I have a background in biomedical/engineering topics and I like to embed the beauties of the body into my bodies of work)

• rhythmic patterns of similar sounds in words (alliteration, assonance…)

I am seeking opportunities to write and collaborate with other creatives whether that be through poetry or song lyric writing. Representation is very important to me so I want to be in spaces open to me and my stories as I am.
